A Free Pattern for You 💌

I just returned from QuiltCon in Raleigh where I demonstrated transferring this redwork embroidery design with the fabulous Oliso M3Pro project iron. In my most recent blog, I'm sharing two easy ways to transfer embroidery designs, featuring an easy project inspired by my book, Love You to Pieces: a Gift of Friendship.  We stitched the design into a pincushion using the Treasured Threadz® Postage Stamp Retro faux patchwork panel and one of my favorite vintage trims, ricrac .

Whether you prefer making your own iron-on transfer or tracing directly onto fabric, this post will help you choose the method that works best for your fabric. I love using Aunt Martha's Tracing Pad and Transfer Pencil from Colonial Patterns.

I stitched the design on white cotton, and I am also planning a project featuring my ABC Collection Tomato and Bubble Gum Color Dyed Flour Sack Towels. This towel collection is available in 13 colors. The towels are ideal for both embroidery and sewing projects. I also share using lightweight fusible batting to give the stitching structure — no hoop required. I prefer two strands of my spooled Sulky Crossroads twelve weight thread for this project.
