❄️ A Winter Wonderland of Inspiration! ⛄

Hello Everyone! I know its a bit late, but Happy New Year! The New Year brought snow to Kansas City - and lots of it! We got our first official blizzard in almost 50 years - with Mother Nature generously giving the KC metro well over a foot of snow! The whole city has been snowed in for about a week - but since Mr. B was at home all week (he's a teacher, no school!) he and I were able to get some sledding in, one of my favorite winter activities! 

Just look at the beautiful blanket of white that covered KC! I have to admit I will miss it after it melts… but speaking of blankets - you know I love to upcycle vintage blankets into AnyTime Toppers. Well, get ready because later this month my friend Karen Sullivan, of Sully's Upcycled, is joining me for a series of upcycling videos featuring the AnyTime Topper pattern! We had a great time filming together and I know you will love Karen and the projects she created!

Another highlight of the holiday break was a trip to Lawrence with my daughter, Emma (a fellow KU grad!), to watch the Jayhawks play some basketball. Of course I wore my upcycled AnyTime Topper in KU colors to the game - I couldn't believe how perfect these colors were when I thrifted this blanket! See a before photo of this blanket in my post with sewing tips and some textile history of Pendleton. I also wanted to show you my favorite Christmas gift - a KU needlepoint my sister-in-law made me! Look at that detail! Clearly everyone knows I am a SUPER FAN!

A few years back, we were Up North in Michigan and there was no shortage of snowy inspiration! Check out my blog post where I share more about the joys of winter. Oh, and one last thing that I just had to share - I recently found this darling snowman made out of yarn while I was out treasure hunting. I just adore him and have him looking out my studio window to our backyard. He's the perfect addition to our winter family.
