Denim for Days: Reimagined Jacket & Jeans

I love art and I love fashion!  Mr. B and I attended a wonderful event last night in Kansas City filled with both! Learn about this fun event happening every Friday evening in April:  MallArts . I added a touch of patchwork with the Missouri Star Blue Treasured Threadz panel to the placket of a thrifted denim shirt. The fabric art in the background titled “LOVE” was created by Taylor Triano.

 

Speaking of fun fashion, packing for a week at a creative conference like H + H Americas, takes some real thought! For my lineup, I am starting with a thrifted jean jacket and vest I stumbled upon (you know that magical moment when you just know something has possibilities).

I've been cutting, piecing, and stitching to create one-of-a-kind fashions that express my love for vintage art and upcycling. It's all about reimagining what you already have—and turning it into something truly special and one of a kind.  

As I am preparing my upcycled denim wardrobe for the H + H show next month, I thought it would be fun to look back at my Indygo Junction days and this video I filmed with my friend Rob Appell. In this tutorial, we dive into creative ways to repurpose denim while making a stylish messenger bag from my Denim Redesign book.
