Episode to Share: Meet Corey of Crafters Roundtable

I had a wonderful time joining Crafters Roundtable Podcast with Corey Pearson, founder of the Linda's Electric Quilters community. One of my favorite moments in our conversation was discovering that we both followed in our mothers' footsteps—building careers rooted in creativity and craft.

We also talk about quilting culture, creativity, and the stories behind my Love You to Pieces book. If you enjoy hearing how makers build their creative lives and businesses, I think you'll really enjoy this episode.

Since we are talking all things quilt, I wanted to share a project using my Anytime Topper Pattern. We transformed a piece of vintage quilt top and a dress shirt into a unique, wearable topper—and seeing my mom Donna model the finished piece made it even more special. Quilts and patchwork aren't just for beds; they can become part of the stories we wear and share. I wish you all could have been with me at QuiltCon in Raleigh! The Applique category of quilts on display were absolutely incredible—bold color, innovative design, and endless creativity. One of my favorites was It Ain't What They Call You, It's What You Answer To by my talented friend Bianca Springer—I loved seeing her art in person for an up close look at all these amazing faces! I took the photo of Bianca and her daughter at Quilt Festival in Houston last October, both are wearing her creative apparel designs I loved! 

I was also mesmerized by McBlue by Sandra Kaiser from Riedstadt, Hesse, Germany. This white, grey, and blue quilt celebrates her beloved Tibetan Terrier, McKenzie! Be sure to zoom in to see the stitching details on the nose.

Seeing quilts like these always reminds me how quilting continues to evolve while still honoring tradition—and how grateful I am to be part of this amazing community.
