Upcycle Denim with 🧵 Treasured  Threadz ❤️ Watch & Learn

 

Hello Fabric Friends,

This spring, Treasured Threadz was one of the most talked-about collections in our booth at H+H Americas. Time and again shop owners told us new customers were walking through their doors wanting to learn to sew and create their very own signature fashions!

For as long as I can remember, I've loved collecting vintage textiles, fabrics, and ephemera. 

Treasured Threadz grew from that passion, along with my love of upcycling, embellishing, and personalizing everyday items. The panels were designed to help makers add a little creativity and personality to jackets, vests, bags, home décor, and more. 

If you're new to Treasured Threadz—or simply need a refresher—I thought this would be a great time to reintroduce the collection. 

One of the best ways to get acquainted with the collection is through this conversation I had with Nicole from Sew Much Moore In Store. I talk about the inspiration behind the panels, creative ways to use them, and the bonus patterns included with each panel, including the Crossbody Bag, Eyeglass Case, and Zipper Pouch.

Many of you may remember my book Denim Redesign. Looking back, it's easy to see how Treasured Threadz evolved from those same ideas—transforming everyday garments with appliqué, embellishment, and a personal touch. 

This could be a great way to get started this summer on making some fun and totally unique pieces. The apron would be a terrific hostess gift for a July 4th Celebration or your favorite sewist!

Creating Treasured Threadz has been one of my favorite projects, and I'm excited to share more of the collection with you in the coming weeks. I'll be highlighting each panel along with project ideas, inspiration, and creative ways to use them.
