Editor's Take

Ann Gish isn't just another luxury bedding brand-it's basically the textile equivalent of finding that perfect vintage piece that somehow makes your entire room look intentional. Founded by Ann Gish in 1991, her products can be found in the finest home stores, specified by leading interior designers, and featured in hotels world-wide. But here's what makes it interesting: this isn't some corporate behemoth churning out generic "luxury" linens.

The company started with Ann herself, an interior designer who literally began making washable silk napkins in her guest room because she was terrible at sewing straight lines. That kind of honest imperfection-turned-strength runs through everything they do. Ann Gish and the Art of Home designs and produces exquisitely designed, finely made textiles for the bedroom and the rest of the home. From silks and embroideries to casual cottons, our linens are designed to bring lasting beauty into your home.

What's fascinating is how they've managed to stay relevant across three decades. Her designs are in the homes of many celebrities and have also appeared in film, TV, and on Broadway. That's not just name-dropping-it's proof that their aesthetic translates across different contexts, from intimate bedrooms to public stages.

The brand story took a poignant turn in 2019. In August 2019, Ann passed away after a private battle with cancer. Her husband David and daughter Jane are running the business from the company's new corporate home in Massachusetts. But rather than losing its creative edge, the company has continued evolving. In 2021, the company launched The Met x Ann Gish, a collection inspired by the works of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The collection is ongoing and will have new designs debuting every six months.

And they're not just resting on their founder's legacy. In January 2022, the company won the ARTS Award for best bedding line, during the annual ARTS Awards in Dallas, Texas. That's recent validation that they're still pushing boundaries in a crowded market.

What really sets Ann Gish apart is their approach to luxury-it's not about thread count bragging rights or status symbols. It's about creating textiles that feel both elevated and livable, which is honestly harder to achieve than most people realize.
