What is the return window?
Ann Taylor gives you 30 days to return most items for a full refund, whether you bought online or in-store. This applies to both in-store and online purchases. Holiday purchases have an extended return window until January 15.
Do I need a receipt to return an item?
Proof of purchase, such as a receipt or confirmation email, is required for a full refund. The original receipt is the preferred proof for all returns. Order confirmation emails (printed or digital copies) are accepted for online orders. Returns without proof of purchase are credited at the current selling price as merchandise credit only.
Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Final sale items, intimates, and swimwear are not eligible for return or exchange. Merchandise from the Maternity and Swimwear Collections may not be returned or exchanged at Ann Taylor store locations.
How will I receive my refund?
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7-10 business days after receipt. For gift returns that are received within 30 days of the transaction date, you will receive an Online E-Gift Certificate for the amount paid by the sender.
Can I return online purchases in-store?
Unwashed, unworn and defective merchandise may also be returned or exchanged at any Ann Taylor location with the exception of select merchandise. To return your order in store, please bring your order to the store and an associate will process your return. Online purchase returns cannot be accepted at LOFT, LOFT Outlet or Ann Taylor Factory store locations.

So here's the thing about Ann Taylor-it's kind of the wardrobe equivalent of that friend who always has her life together. You know the one. She shows up to brunch looking effortlessly polished while you're still figuring out if your shirt is inside out.
Founded back in 1954 by Richard Liebeskind in New Haven, Connecticut, the brand got its name from the best-selling dress in his father's showroom. Pretty straightforward origin story, right? But what started as a single shop has grown into this iconic American brand with over 300 locations that basically defined what "work appropriate but still stylish" means for generations of women.
And honestly, that's where Ann Taylor really shines. They've mastered this sweet spot between professional and personal style-the kind of clothes that work for a board meeting at 10 AM and drinks with friends at 6 PM. Their suits are legendary. Like, actually legendary. Walk into any corporate office in America and you'll spot at least a few Ann Taylor blazers. They've got this reputation for quality tailoring that actually fits real women's bodies, which sounds basic but is surprisingly rare.
The brand operates both regular Ann Taylor stores and Ann Taylor Factory outlets, giving shoppers options at different price points. Smart move, really. You can invest in that perfect interview suit at full price or hunt for deals at the factory store-either way, you're getting that signature Ann Taylor aesthetic. Timeless, tailored, sophisticated without being stuffy.
What's interesting is how they've evolved beyond just workwear. Sure, they're still the go-to for professional attire, but they've expanded into casual pieces, activewear, and even loungewear. Because modern women don't just live in conference rooms anymore (thank goodness). They've adapted to how we actually dress now-mixing blazers with jeans, pairing work pants with sneakers, that whole thing.
The shopping experience itself is pretty seamless whether you're online or in-store. Their website is easy to navigate, and they've got this StyleRewards loyalty program that actually gives you perks you'll use. Plus, their customer service is accessible through multiple channels-phone, email, chat-which matters when you need to sort out a return or track down that perfect size.
Speaking of returns, they give you 30 days with your receipt, which is pretty standard but appreciated. Items need to be unworn and unwashed with tags attached, obviously. And they've got this thing where you can return online purchases in-store, which saves you the hassle of dealing with return shipping labels when you're already out running errands.
One thing that sets them apart is their commitment to fit. They offer petite sizes at select locations and have really dialed in their sizing consistency. When you find your size in Ann Taylor, it tends to stay your size across different styles, which is honestly a gift. No more ordering three sizes of the same pants just to figure out which one works.
The brand has also stayed relevant by keeping an eye on trends without chasing them desperately. They'll incorporate current colors and silhouettes, but everything still feels like Ann Taylor. That's harder to pull off than it sounds-maintaining brand identity while staying fresh.
Their corporate office sits in Times Square in New York, which feels fitting for a fashion brand. And they're part of the larger KnitWell Group family now, alongside brands like LOFT, which gives them some serious retail muscle while maintaining their distinct identity.
Look, Ann Taylor isn't trying to be the edgiest brand out there, and that's perfectly fine. They're the reliable choice, the safe bet that actually pays off. When you need to look put-together and professional without overthinking it, that's where they come in. It's fashion for women who have actual lives to live and don't want getting dressed to be the hardest part of their day.
