Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Arteza-they're basically the scrappy underdog that made it big in the art supply world. Ranked No. 32 on the Inc. 5000 list for 2020, which is pretty impressive for a company that started in 2015. But here's where it gets interesting: Arteza has joined Plaid Enterprises, so they're now part of a much bigger family of craft brands.

What makes them different? They figured out something most art supply companies missed-that artists shouldn't have to choose between quality and affordability. Early on, we realized that many artists and crafters were struggling to find high-quality products at a price they could afford. We believe no one should have to sacrifice one to get the other. And honestly, that philosophy shows in their product range.

Their social media game is solid too. The Arteza Instagram account @artezaofficial has 516K followers and Facebook @artezacolors has more than 149K, which tells you they've built a real community around their brand. They're constantly running challenges and engaging with artists, which feels genuine rather than just marketing fluff.

The Miami headquarters thing is kind of perfect for them-headquartered next to the beaches of Miami-because it gives them this creative, laid-back vibe that matches their brand personality. Plus, their customer specialists are available Monday through Friday from 8 am - 4:30 pm ET, and you can also use their customer service live chat, which is more accessible than a lot of companies offer.

What's really smart is how they've positioned themselves in the market. They're not trying to be the fanciest art supply company, but they're also not going for the bottom-of-the-barrel crowd. They've found that sweet spot where serious artists can afford to experiment without breaking the bank. And with the Plaid acquisition, they've got the backing to really scale up while keeping that core mission intact.
