Returns

What is the return window?
Watches are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase shown on the invoice, with the possibility to extend the original 2-year warranty for another 3 years. This is a warranty for manufacturing defects, not a traditional return policy for unwanted purchases.

Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Impacts could cause an exclusion of the warranty coverage, and customers should refer to the Customer Service General Terms & Conditions for more information. Loss, simple theft, normal wear and tear, aesthetic damage, damage resulting from air humidity or temperature influences, watches that have undergone third-party intervention or third-party modification, and damage to a strap are excluded from coverage.

How will I receive my refund?
Audemars Piguet operates on a warranty and service model rather than a traditional retail return policy. If a watch is repairable, Audemars Piguet will assume the costs of repair; if not repairable, Audemars Piguet may offer, at its sole discretion, either the refund or the replacement of the watch, and customers will be asked to assign ownership rights of the irreparable watch to Audemars Piguet.

What if I received a damaged or incorrect item?
Customers are recommended to bring their watch to a nearby Audemars Piguet boutique, repair centre or authorised retailer, and depending on the service needed, the watch will then be sent to the right repair or authorised service facility. In some countries, customers can benefit from a complimentary online pick-up service for their watch and will be invited to fill in a repair request explaining the circumstances of the damage and the date of occurrence, after which Customer Service will examine the watch.

How do I start a return online?
Customers can create an account to check their watches in, extend their International Sales Warranty and benefit from a complimentary pick-up to service their watch for eligible watches and countries only. Customers should fill in the form to request a service or an official document, and in some countries, they can benefit from a complimentary pick-up service for their watch.

Editor's Take

There's something kind of fascinating about a company that's been making watches in the same Swiss valley since 1875 and still belongs to the founding families. That's Audemars Piguet for you - a brand that basically wrote the rulebook on luxury watchmaking, then tore it up and rewrote it again in 1972.

That year was when they dropped the Royal Oak, and honestly, it was a pretty gutsy move. Picture this: everyone's making elegant gold dress watches, and AP shows up with a stainless steel sports watch that cost more than most gold pieces. The octagonal bezel with those exposed screws? People thought they'd lost their minds. Designer Gérald Genta sketched it overnight, inspired by a diving helmet, and it became one of the most recognizable watches ever made.

But here's the thing - AP isn't just resting on Royal Oak laurels. They're out there pushing boundaries with complications that'll make your head spin. We're talking minute repeaters, perpetual calendars, tourbillons - the kind of mechanical wizardry that takes years to master. Their watchmakers in Le Brassus (that's in the Vallée de Joux, basically the epicenter of Swiss watchmaking) are crafting movements with hundreds of tiny components, all finished by hand.

The brand's got this interesting duality going on. On one hand, they're deeply traditional - still family-owned, still in the same village, still using techniques passed down through generations. On the other, they're constantly experimenting with new materials like ceramic, tantalum, and their recently developed sand gold. It's like they've got one foot planted firmly in 1875 and the other stepping into tomorrow.

And notice how they've become this cultural phenomenon? Hip-hop artists have been name-dropping AP in tracks for decades. Jay-Z, Travis Scott, the list goes on. There's something about an Audemars that signals you've made it. The brand's leaned into this too, partnering with musicians and artists through their AP x Music and AP Contemporary programs.

Their boutiques - or "AP Houses" as they call them - are popping up in major cities worldwide, offering this intimate, almost residential experience. It's not your typical watch store. They're creating these spaces that feel more like visiting a collector's home than shopping.

The warranty situation is pretty solid too. You get 2 years standard, extendable to 5 years if you register your watch. Plus they've got this AP Coverage Service that protects against theft and damage - basically unheard of in the luxury watch world. It's not insurance, they're careful to point out, but it functions similarly without the premiums.

What really sets AP apart is their commitment to in-house manufacturing. Every component, from the smallest gear to the case, meets their exacting standards. Their "Grande Complication" pieces push the boundaries of what's mechanically possible. The Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie, for instance, represents years of acoustic engineering research.

Collections like the Royal Oak Offshore (introduced in 1993) and the more recent Code 11.59 show they're not afraid to evolve. The Offshore took the Royal Oak's DNA and made it bigger, bolder, sportier. Code 11.59 brought a completely fresh aesthetic with its unique octagonal case within a round bezel.

At 150 years old, Audemars Piguet isn't slowing down. They're still innovating, still surprising, still making watches that collectors wait years to acquire. And in a world where so many luxury brands have been bought up by conglomerates, there's something refreshing about a company that's stayed true to its roots while constantly seeking what's beyond.
