Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Awe Inspired-it's not your typical jewelry brand. Started in 2018 by Jill Johnson, a three-time cancer survivor, and her son Max, this company basically turned personal struggle into something kind of beautiful and empowering. The whole concept centers around goddess necklaces and mythology-inspired pieces, which sounds niche until you realize they've built a massive following of 279,000 on Instagram alone.

What makes them different? Well, they're crafting pieces from actual precious metals-14k gold and sterling silver-not the cheap stuff you find everywhere. And they're serious about it. Every piece uses ethically sourced gemstones and gets made by artisans with over 100 years of collective experience. That's not marketing fluff; it's heirloom-quality jewelry designed to last.

But here's where it gets interesting. They donate 20% of all proceeds to charity partners like NAMI, CancerCare, and Women's Earth Alliance. Twenty percent. Not the usual 1% token gesture. They've formed multi-year partnerships with organizations empowering women to overcome adversity, which aligns perfectly with their whole goddess empowerment vibe.

The brand's gotten some serious recognition too-named to The Lead's Foremost 50 List in 2024, putting them alongside brands like Caraway Home and OLIPOP. Their Goddess Collection has been worn on red carpets, Netflix shows, and even at protests. It's become this symbol of female empowerment and body autonomy, especially their Medusa pieces.

They're also queer-owned and proudly celebrate diversity and intersectional feminism. The company's mission-driven approach isn't just talk-it's baked into everything they do, from their charitable giving to their product design featuring goddesses from various cultures and mythologies.

Prices aren't cheap-sterling silver pieces run around $200, and their gold vermeil goes for $300 and up-but customers seem willing to pay for the quality and meaning behind each piece. They've got over 10,000 five-star reviews, though some customers have noted the pricing feels steep for vermeil (gold-plated silver) rather than solid gold.

The shopping experience includes their Goddess Quiz, which went viral and helps customers find their perfect goddess match. Plus they offer a membership program called the Goddess Circle-$40/month that converts to store credit with perks like free shipping and early access to new products.
