Free Festival Events

Big Ears is built on the belief that adventurous music belongs to everyone. This year, nearly 50 events across the festival weekend are completely free and open to the public — no wristband required. From conversations and panels at the PostModern Sound Exchange and Blue Note Lounge, to art exhibitions at the UT Downtown Gallery, the Emporium, and the RED Gallery, along with performances at the Knoxville Museum of Art, there is something for the curious at every turn. Aquarium Drunkard Transmissions

The Aquarium Drunkard Transmissions team, featuring host Jason P. Woodbury and Tyler Wilcox, are coming to the Big Ears Festival March 26-29 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to present a morning show at Old City Java (109 S Central St.), streaming live on Instagram and YouTube in collaboration between Aquarium Drunkard, Big Ears, and Talkhouse.

Each morning from 9-11 AM ET, Woodbury and Wilcox will discuss highlights from the previous evening and acts they plan on catching that day, as well as interviews with special guests as they drop in. Aquarium Drunkard Transmissions begins its Big Ears coverage on Thursday, March 26 with a special preview episode featuring Thurston Moore and Kramer.
