MJ Lenderman Named Emerging Artist of the Year

Congratulations to MJ Lenderman on being named Emerging Artist of the Year at this year’s Americana Music Honors & Awards! The Asheville-based songwriter and guitarist will make his Big Ears debut in 2026 with MJ Lenderman & The Wind—the perfect stage for a band reshaping the sound of roots and Americana for a new generation.

Patricia Brennan Septet Shines

Visionary vibraphonist, marimbist, improviser, and composer Patricia Brennan is no stranger to performing at Big Ears. But in 2026 we’re thrilled to have her back—this time performing her own work and leading her own Septet, an adventurous ensemble that received Album of the Year in this year’s DownBeat Critic’s Poll. Brennan herself was named Vibraphonist of the Year, recognition of her groundbreaking artistry on the instrument. Even more exciting, her Big Ears performance will arrive just after the release of a new album, Of the Near and Far, due out in October on Pyroclastic Records.
