Ori here with a special Mother’s Day letter. To celebrate, we’re bringing my mom’s favorite collection of spices back in stock—the same set of spices Ethan and I brought onto Shark Tank in 2023—shipping free for the entire month of May.
But first, a little story time.

My family moved to the US just a few months after this photo was taken. We sat around the dinner table every night trying to make sense of our new environment. Mom and I talked for hours about what we learned that day, decoding idioms and trying to figure out my homework assignments.
We also watched TV together to understand the culture of our new home. Mom became a big fan of Shark Tank, and as I worked on Burlap & Barrel, she’d regularly send me tips from the show for running a successful business. That advice helped me and Ethan navigate the first years of building Burlap & Barrel, but it also gave us one more reason to get on Shark Tank: make my momma proud.
It was a big milestone for us to walk into the Tank (and Gwyneth Paltrow!) in April 2023.
We live on opposite coasts now, but my mom and I still talk every day, exchanging recipes and cooking hacks, sharing our highs and lows. Today, she’ll see this newsletter at the same time as you all do (hi mom!). It’s a good day to call your mom, but so is tomorrow and every day. It’s always a good time to show up, feed the people you love, then plop on the couch to watch her favorite TV show or movie.
On this Mother’s Day, I’d like to share the Shark Tank Collection that features some of her favorite spices, the same spices we impressed the Sharks with in front of a national audience:
Our spicy and sweet Royal Cinnamon, which mom uses in her signature apple crinkle cake: peeled apple slices and walnuts covered in cinnamon sugar and baked in a filo dough blanket
Our first-ever spice, Wild Mountain Cumin, the star in our family’s citrusy, garlicky homemade hummus
Black Lime, which my mom uses to coat roasted veggies and fish

Black Lime. I love it. It's one of my favorites (along with Sun-Dried Tomato Powder). I use it on everything, like yogurt sauces and dips, but my favorite is on grilled shrimp!
