This Newsletter: 4 Ways to Enjoy Baobab & Vanilla Black Tea, Cardamom Price Notice | | As spice lovers and adventurers, we love to play with flavors and ingredients outside of the box. This week, we’re extending this playfulness to our special collaboration Baobab Fruit & Vanilla Black Tea, too. Made with whole pieces of Nyanza Vanilla and tangy bits of baobab fruit, this aromatic black tea from the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania can be enjoyed in more ways than meets the eye. | | 1. Make baobab vanilla chia pudding: brew your tea as usual, then allow it to cool before mixing together with chia seeds and your choice of milk, sweetener and additional spices. Cover and refrigerate to allow the pudding to set overnight, then top with fresh fruit, coconut flakes, or nuts for breakfast or an anytime snack. | | 2. Make baobab vanilla tea syrup: steep tea bags in boiling hot water for 10 minutes, then add in sugar to simmer until shiny, thickened and syrupy before stirring in vanilla extract and nutmeg. Use on pancakes, waffles, yogurt and dessert, or in beverages. | | 3. Play with brewing time: steep for 3 to 4 minutes for a smooth, soothing, marshmallow-y cup of tea, or simmer the tea to thoroughly extract the full flavor of vanilla pods and tart baobab fruit. For a twist on the Arnold Palmer, letting the tea steep overnight before straining will create a soft wine-like tannic note that pairs super well with a squeeze of lemon and a stir of honey. | | | | 4. Serve it hot or cold! It’s gentle and soothing when warm, and extra refreshing when iced. Add a spoonful of honey for an extra smooth sip! Our customer Vicki is a big fan: “It’s soooo smooth with a unique flavor. Love the actual fruit/seed in with the tea leaves😍” | | In order to keep up with production costs and make sure our partner farmers are getting paid fairly, our Cloud Forest Cardamom line-up (Whole Pods, Seeds, Ground Pods) will be increasing in price starting July 1st. If you love these sweet, floral, vine-ripened pods, stock up this month to catch them at their current price!
