Made with the world’s most prized green mangoes from Devgad, India, Alphonso Mango Amchur is a sour mango powder that's an essential traditional ingredient in Indian chaats (savory snacks), but we love using it in all the ways (see below)!

How it's made: our partner farmer Amol Kavle collects still-green Alphonso mangoes that fall from the tree before they’ve completely ripened. The fruit is then grated, salted lightly (<0.1%) and laid out to dry completely in the sun before being ground into a powder.

Alphonso Mango Amchur is a perfect tart topping for pretty much everything with a fruity salt & vinegar vibe. Its lemony quality is almost magical in its versatility:

Make a refreshing cold brew amchur “mangonade”: combine 1 heaping teaspoon of amchur with enough water to fill a pint-sized Mason jar, then lid it tightly, shake to combine and slide into the fridge. Wait 24 hours for best results, then strain and enjoy over ice or sweeten it to taste.
Sprinkle it on! It brightens fresh fruit, grain bowls, avocado toast and roasted sweet potato with just a pinch.
Use as an alternative to vinegar & citrus juice: we love it in salad dressings, lentil soups and stir-fries.
Add to savory marinades, like this spiced yogurt marinade for tender grilled chicken. It’s also great on roasted salmon and seared fish!
Use as a puckery salt substitute: it’s super fun as a cocktail rim spice and amazing in bringing out the juicy depths of grilled fruit.
