Click here Volume 29, Issue #18 | June 13, 2025 Whether building temporary cities, launching neighborhood art parties, or supporting communities affected by hardship, Burners everywhere are doing remarkable things. For example, once a year in South Africa, AfrikaBurn collaborates with neighborhood organizations to produce a participatory street carnival in Cape Town. Members of China's Dragon Burn community have directly inspired Shanghai citizens to embrace a more regenerative way of life. And in 2024, Burners Without Borders welcomed a new chapter in Colombia whose members have been active for years protecting local pollinators and helping vulnerable youth find their passions. These are just three out of hundreds of Burning Man inspired projects that activated in the past year across six continents. Once a year we go deep, and publish a folio that shares the breadth and depth of Burning Man's impact. Jump below to travel the world with Burning Man through the 2024 Dispatch. Coming later this month in its new on-demand format, Desert Arts Preview promises a veritable smorgasbord of art installations destined for Black Rock City 2025. And on July 22 be sure to join the 2025 Sustainability Report to hear about and get involved with sustainability projects in Black Rock City and beyond. All the details are below! Start dreaming up weird and wonderful prose to describe your Black Rock City shenanigans — submissions for the WhatWhereWhen guide and Playa Events open June 18. The deadline is approaching to add a name to the Remembrance Plaque. Temple Guardians are looking for compassionate beings to join their team. Burners are not just imagining a better future; we're prototyping it, scaling it, and inviting everyone to co-create the systems and culture needed to reach the 2030 goals. On July 20, 2019, Burning Man Project published the 2030 Environmental Sustainability Roadmap and committed to three goals: 1) Handle Waste Ecologically, 2) Be Regenerative, and 3) Be Carbon Negative — all by 2030. Now, six years in and halfway to 2030, sustainability work is in a transition between experimentation and scale. This call is a chance to align, accelerate, and build the next phase — together.
