But as the city evolves, so do the questions surrounding sound, scale, and Radical Inclusion. The Department of Mutant Vehicles (DMV) is launching The Wheel Deal β a two-year community deep dive to shape the future of mobile art β and we need your voice in the driverβs seat. The DMV wants to hear from ALL of you, and they have created several avenues for participation.
Read "The Wheel Deal" in the Journal (Photo by Dan Adams) Submit Your Proposal to Build the 2027 Black Rock City Temple Burning Man Project is pleased to announce an evolution of the Temple Grant Program, designed to better support Temple artists and strengthen this special tradition in Black Rock City. Beginning with the 2027 Temple, the timeline is starting earlier, giving the selected artist approximately four additional months to develop the design and plan for this ambitious project. Proposals for the 2027 BRC Temple will be accepted starting April 30, 2026, with a submission deadline of June 4, 2026 at 5pm PDT. If youβre interested in applying, please join one of the virtual Q&A sessions with Burning Man Art department staff and key Temple stakeholders. Here are Highlights & Important Links Everything you experience in Black Rock City was imagined by its citizens, including YOU. Curious to learn how you can roll up your sleeves and build it? Last weekend 495 people, from first-timers to experienced Burners, joined the Burning Man 2026 Participation Fair to plug in and elevate their Burning Man experience. The Art department highlighted Black Rock City 2026 Honoraria art, and explained how to support an art project or bring your own artwork. Rising Sparks shared their mission to ignite next-generation participation. Connect with Rising Sparks to discover pathways for engaging with this vibrant community. Placement discussed how small- and medium-sized camps can make a big impact, and invited YOU to bring a camp to Black Rock City. Fair participants learned about the many opportunities to help build and run Black Rock City. Browse the volunteering page to find a team that fits your skill, interests, and curiosity. From there, it was time to choose your own adventure. Participants joined a breakout room or three, with discussions about everything from taking the Burner Express, to burning in your backyard.
