| No images? Click here Volume 29, Issue #9 | February 12, 2025 We told you things were starting to stir in the Burnerverse. Dusty creators don't like idle time. All we need is a little nudge to pull on our boots, round up some friends, and stoke the mighty engine that brings weird and wonderful things to life. Heading full throttle into ticket season, the first ticket sale kicked off today at noon Pacific time. If you registered for the 'Today Sale' check your email for the link, and get yer paws on some Black Rock City 2025 tickets. Not to worry if you didn't register; there will be sales April and July too. Read more about tickets below. Participating in Temple builds and communities is truly life-changing. Whether part of a crew, a donor providing critical Temple funds, or as a Temple Guardian, those who get involved with a Temple usually come back to do more. Read on for storytelling about the people and purpose behind Burning Man temples in Black Rock City and around the world. Prepare to be inspired to get involved! If you lost someone in your community since BRC 2024, you can add their name to the Remembrance Plaque placed on the 2025 Man Pavilion. Details below. Like tiny mushrooms in the rain, participation forms are popping up everywhere. In this very newsletter, you'll find forms for Fire Conclave and Renewables for Artists. Stay tuned, there will be SO many ways to participate! In a new Burning Man Live episode, meet the Rising Sparks, a crew of 20-somethings clearing pathways for younger Burners to bring their energy to BRC and beyond. The Camp Symposium is weeks away β March 22, to be precise. Be sure to RSVP if you're planning to drop in on office hours for Placement, Art or the Department of Mutant Vehicles this month. Plus, there's a shiny new retro-futuristic poster for Tomorrow Today (just in case you like schwag). Hold my dusty, lukewarm beer... If You Registered for the 'Today Sale' for BRC Tickets β It's Open NOW A giant thank you for your overwhelming interest in the 'Today Sale.' If you registered, the sale is NOW open. Click the link you received by email and jump in to score tickets to the best Burning Man ever. Don't you fret... If you didn't register for the 'Today Sale' your next opportunity to score a ticket will be the 'Tomorrow Sale' in April. This yearβs tiered ticket pricing makes the communal experience of Black Rock City more accessible to all who wish to participate. A $750 ticket covers the full cost it takes to produce the experience of one participant. Generous souls who pay more for a ticket therefore subsidize lower-priced tickets and Honoraria art grants. The Global Community Behind Burning Man's 2025 Temple Whether in Black Rock City, or at a Burning Man Regional Event somewhere in the world, the creation of temples has birthed a far-reaching network, one that has given thousands of people new skills, clear purpose, and lifelong community. A new Journal post, βBuilding a Beacon,β traces the cultural significance and expression of temples in Black Rock City and across the global Burning Man movement. Building and supporting a temple is a Communal Effort. This year's "Temple of the Deep" crew is calling for volunteers and financial contributions to bring their project to life in BRC β visit their website to get involved. Read "Building a Beacon" in the Burning Man Journal Art: "Temple of the Deep" (Render by Miguel Arraiz GarcΓa) The Official "Tomorrow Today" Poster is Here Since 1998, we've collaborated with designers to create a poster that expresses the spirit of the year's Burning Man theme. And yes, we've always put these posters up for sale in the Marketplace. The stunning new poster for "Tomorrow Today" summons a deep playa sunrise, infused with utopian vibes of a retro science fiction novel. The poster's designer, Eric Thompson, describes his inspiration: β'Tomorrow Today' instantly evoked a retro sci-fi aesthetic for me. However, I wanted to capture that essence without relying on the usual visual tropes β no rockets. Instead, I leaned into nostalgia through a carefully chosen retro font and color palette, complementing them with an illustration of the sunrise over the playa β a symbolic nod to new beginnings.β Support Burning Man Project Burning Man is a spark for a better world, where people can discover the most beautiful aspects of themselves and share them with others. That spark needs to continue! Thank you for all that you do. Your contributions of time, participation, and philanthropy bring Burning Man to life. The nonprofit requires support above and beyond ticket sales to build Black Rock City and ensure Burning Man remains financially accessible. Weβre no longer offering $2,500 FOMO tickets (as we did from 2022-2024); instead, Burning Man Project has launched the Patron of Black Rock City. This is a new, limited-time philanthropic program that embodies the principle of Gifting and offers the opportunity for those who would like to make a contribution to support Black Rock City directly the ability to do so, enabling more participant access, and art Honoraria grants. As a Patron of Black Rock City, you gain easy access to purchase BRC 2025 tickets, without needing to pre-register. Because of the community's generosity, we will continue to build Black Rock City and stoke this wonderfully connective culture that has changed so many lives. We will continue to bring people together to imagine and build grand things that infuse the world with awe.
