Sometimes this means going home to build a giant, fire-breathing minotaur in your driveway. Other times, experiencing Immediacy and participatory creativity sparks an idea for a new venture, or a different way of doing business. Whatever you do with that impetus, YOU are the ripple effect of Burning Man. Your connection, innovation, and creativity is making an endless, ever-evolving impact on the world. Dive into the Journal and Burning Man LIVE podcast to meet four movers and shakers who took their Burning Man learnings into the world, founding nonprofits and community-focused businesses, and making inspired changes to an existing business. Scroll for the goods. Whether you build, make art, cultivate community... or do it all, your participation is the spark for a global cultural movement. Amplify the awe, connection, and creativity by making a year-end gift to Burning Project. How Burning Man Inspires Organizational Creativity That's right, there's a real-world Black Rock Roller Disco in San Francisco that's open year 'round and welcomes all to boogie on the rink. It all began in Black Rock City; today it connects people and brings awe into the world, year-round. Church of 8 Wheels founder David Miles is just one of many, many Burners who lit their entrepreneurial spark at Burning Man. Some have found the impetus to create something completely new; others are emboldened to take an established venture in new directions. In our latest Journal article, meet three leaders whose businesses draw inspiration from Burning Man, and are now making an impact on the world. Created by Alexander Rose and friends, "The Clarisse McClellan Manual for Civilization Library" invited participants to peruse more than 1,400 books chosen for their value to restart civilization. On Friday at dawn, people were challenged to save any books they did not want to burn with the Man. By Friday afternoon, every book was saved. Get more of the backstory in this Burning Man LIVE interview with its creator. Watch "The Library at the End of the World" (Video by Jesse Chandler) Art is the How β From BRC to Public Policy Randy Engstrom brought theme camps and art installations to Black Rock City, now he brings the spirit of kindness and collaboration (and do-ocracy) into creating public policy.
