| No images? Click here Volume 29, Issue #10 | February 28, 2025 You may have heard this phrase floating around: "It's going to be the best Burning Man ever!" What EXACTLY does that mean anyway? Far be it for anyone to impose their best Burning Man on another soul. Only YOU can imagine what your best Burn might be — it's a marvel of your own creation, hatched from your imagination. You are officially empowered to dream up your most playful, audacious, innovative or oddball Tomorrow Today. Then go out and find the others — you know they're out there — and bring it. Burning Man is, after all, a permission engine: a moment in time and space when anything is possible. You just have to make it so! Count on this bunny to serve the freshest updates on Black Rock City tickets — embellished with a fluffy tail. Stewards Sale allocations close today — Friday, February 28 at 12pm PT. Ticket Aid and Resilience programs are open now. When you choose a higher-priced ticket to Black Rock City, you are subsidizing lower-priced tickets for your fellow participants, and supporting more awe and creativity in your favorite dusty metropolis. Listen to a new podcast conversation with key Black Rock City leaders about how they're streamlining processes and discarding red tape for this year's event. Read Caveat's enlightening Journal series on developing bureaucracies that feel like Burning Man. Tune up your Burn and set intentions at a new writing workshop in Burning Man Hive. Have a penchant for khaki (and helping your fellow Burner)? YOU may have what it takes to become a Black Rock Ranger. Drop by March office hours for answers to all your theme camp, mutant vehicle or art questions. If running a theme camp is your flavor of fun, be sure to register for the March 22 Camp Symposium. “The disco ball is a reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed.” – Diana Ross Black Rock City Ticketing Update: Stewards Sale, Ticket Aid & Resilience Hold onto your sparkle pants. We've got the freshest Black Rock City ticket updates right here, right now. New this year, ticket pricing is on a sliding scale — from $550 to $3,000 with the $750 ticket covering the cost of your BRC experience. Check out the ticket price tiers on this page to decide which is best for you. A giant thank you to those who opt for higher-priced tickets — you're making the life-changing experience of BRC possible for others. Ticket Aid and Resilience Program applications are open. Ticket Aid offers reduced-priced tickets to participants who are on a limited income. Resilience makes Black Rock City possible for people severely affected by natural disasters or geopolitical conflict. The Stewards Sale is open March 5 to 12. This program offers tickets for groups registered as theme camps, art projects, mutant vehicle crews and other core contributors. Stewards Sale seeds have until Friday, March 28 at 12pm PT to add invitees. If you were invited by your crew or camp lead, the Stewards Sale will be open March 5 to 12. Whether planning shenanigans in a city or on a Nevada lakebed, bureaucracy is a necessary evil for collaboratively bringing wonderful things into the world. In a new Journal series, Burning Man's Philosopher laureate, Caveat Magister, asks: How do we develop approaches to bureaucracy that “feel like Burning Man...” by incorporating Participation, Civic Responsibility, and Communal Effort (at least)? In this exploration, Caveat unpacks the challenges of creating superstructures that encourage local self-determination and agency, and local systems that foster connection and collaboration. Then he shares the ingredients for inventing a bureaucracy that feels like Burning Man, as defined in a past series of community workshops. Keep an eye on the Journal for the third and final piece in Caveat’s series, coming soon. Read the Journal posts here:
