A giant THANK YOU for your participation and support — the December Community Campaign was a resounding success, and your generosity has continued in the new year. This community's boundless capacity to come together with ingenuity to tackle mighty challenges and look to the future is endlessly inspiring. Lace up those playa boots and grab your water bottle, we're fully underway with 2025 Black Rock City planning, fueled by wild imaginings and a whole lot of love and hard work. Looking ahead, this bunny is over the moon with excitement seeing the community creativity already in play to build our awesome desert city. Drumroll... BRC 2025 has its Temple! With delight, introducing Temple of the Deep by Spanish architect Miguel Arraiz. A bold contemporary design, the 2025 Temple ornately mirrors the volcanic stones of the Black Rock Desert, and explores concepts of light and dark, personal and communal. Scroll for the Journal announcement. Got questions about bringing your project or camp to Black Rock City? Art, Department of Mutant Vehicles (DMV) and Placement are hosting monthly office hours. Dates and registration links are below. Shed tears of joy watching the new International Wood Society documentary, which beautifully highlights the art and artists of Black Rock City. Introducing the 2025 BRC Temple: "Temple of the Deep" With the start of a new year, Burning Man Project's Art department is excited to announce the innovative Temple for Black Rock City 2025: "Temple of the Deep" by Miguel Arraiz! His design embodies both strength and fragility. Inspired by ancient volcanic rocks from the surrounding Black Rock Desert landscape, "Temple of the Deep" will serve as a sanctuary for shared reflection and healing. Miguel invites us all to see ourselves reflected in the Temple’s philosophy of radical acceptance. It is a space for honoring one's journey and finding peace in its imperfection. Returning camps will find a shorter form that should only take 10 minutes to complete (87% of camps told us they are likely or definitely coming back and we can’t wait to see you). That’s not all — the latest update from Level, Black Rock City's Associate Director of City Planning, announces changes intended to make the placement process easier and happier.
