Tomorrow Today invites you to imagine the future in new ways, and to make it real through our collective actions. In the exuberant spirit of the prior centuryβs world fairs, which celebrated not only scientific progress but also cultural exchange and artistic excellence, the 2025 edition of Black Rock City will showcase Burning Manβs global culture of art and innovation. It will provide a venue for us to dream, invent, prototype and share our best and brightest ideas for the years ahead. Scroll to read the full theme announcement. As the Earth cycles into new seasons, we step into one of our favorite moments in the Burning Man calendar. Around the world, creative humans are gathering and imagining, putting together early plans for the projects that will illuminate the playa this August. This newsletter has been burning brains since 1997, when it was penned by the original Jackrabbit, now Burning Man Projectβs CEO Marian Goodell. A few days ago, you may have received an important message from Marian, outlining how you can help ensure Burning Man persists into the future. This message builds on the story we are sharing about our inflection point as a nonprofit. Whether or not you regularly attend Burning Man, I hope youβll be the spark for more Burning Man β in Black Rock City and through the cultural work we do in the world. Need some distraction? Burning Man 2025: Tomorrow Today The 2025 Black Rock City theme, Tomorrow Today, summons the wonder and inventiveness of the great world's fairs, which invited the world to showcase forward-thinking and whimsical new ideas. Counter to the classic world's fairs, which were fueled by consumerism, Black Rock City 2025 will kindle a shared interest in learning from each other and advancing our collective progress toward a better future. Burning Man is a lot more than one event these days, and the global culture is strong and healthy. And yet, as we expand our presence out into the world and daily life, we no longer have the luxury of thinking we are somehow apart from that world. The world's problems are ours, and vice versa. We may not be able to fix everything thatβs broken but we just might be able to build something better. Letβs take back the future!
