Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Soul Legend Booker T. Jones.
There is a handful of musicians whose fingerprints are so deeply pressed into American music that you've heard their influence thousands of times without knowing it. Booker T. Jones is one of them. And on June 5, he brings that incomparable legacy to our main stage.
As the leader of Booker T. & the MGs and a cornerstone of the Stax Records era, Jones helped invent the sound of American soul. His 1962 instrumental "Green Onions" - that unmistakable Hammond B3 groove, became one of the most recognized riffs in music history, and it was only the beginning.
His collaborations with Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Willie Nelson cemented his place not just in soul, but across the entire American musical landscape.
A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Jones is still very much an active force, touring internationally and reminding audiences why his sound has never gone out of style.
