Before Joni Mitchell was Joni Mitchell, Tom Rush heard her play an opening set at a club in Detroit. She had just started writing songs and asked the club owner if she could do a quick set so Rush could hear her. When she came offstage, he asked if she had any more. She did. He recorded them. The rest is history.
That gift for spotting genius -- and the generosity to share it -- has defined Rush's 60-plus-year career. He was the first to introduce the world to the work of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and James Taylor. James Taylor later told Rolling Stone that Rush was "not only one of my early heroes, but also one of my main influences."
And he's still at it. Rush brings to every show what he always has: wry humor, gritty blues, heartfelt ballads, and the kind of storytelling that fills a room with both laughter and longing. Don't miss your chance to see a true living legend.
