Solas

There's a short list of bands that change how you hear music. Solas is on it.

Since forming in New York City in 1995, they built one of the most devoted followings in Celtic music — twelve critically acclaimed albums, years of international touring, and a reputation The Boston Globe summed up simply: "the finest Celtic ensemble this country has ever produced."

Then they went quiet. Eight years of silence.

They came back in 2025 with something worth coming back for. Shamrock City: Seekers & Dreamers — their 30th anniversary production — weaves live music, spoken word, and theatrical storytelling into a single evening. It's not a retrospective. It's a band that earned thirty years, and has something to say about right now.

For forty years he's been one of the most quietly extraordinary instrumentalists in rock. A Texas legend before his first album. The Grammy-winning mind behind "Cliffs of Dover." A musician Rolling Stone placed among the 100 greatest guitarists of all time, and someone who has spent a career chasing something deeper than technique.

"It really boils down to the music and the song at the end of the day." That's his own words. Tonight, at The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley, you can hear exactly what he means.

This week, one of the great voices of Nashville comes to Grass Valley.

Pam Tillis built a career on songs that hit hard and stay with you — multiple No. 1 hits, Grammy and CMA awards, and decades of performances that remind you why country music matters. This isn't a nostalgia act. It's an artist at the top of her craft, playing the songs you know, in a room where you can feel every note.
