Returns
What is the return window?
Cerebelly's general policy is that they do not accept food item returns or issue refunds of your purchase price. Instead, they suggest donating to your local food bank or family in need to help kiddos in your area.
What if I received a damaged or incorrect item?
If a product is delivered to you in a materially damaged condition, or that you did not order, Cerebelly may issue a replacement product, credit, or refund of your purchase price, less the original shipping and handling costs. Within seven days of receiving the damaged or incorrect product, you must notify their Customer Service Department at [email protected].
How will I receive my refund?
If Cerebelly determines that a refund is in order, refunds are processed within approximately five to ten business days of receipt of your notice to the Customer Service Department. The refund will be credited back to the same payment method used to make the original purchase.
Who pays for return shipping?
Cerebelly cannot refund purchases from other retailers and asks that customers go back to the store for a refund. For direct purchases, return shipping costs are not specified in their policy.
Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Cerebelly-it's basically what happens when a neurosurgeon gets fed up with baby food. Dr. Teresa Purzner, a practicing neurosurgeon and developmental neurobiologist, founded this company after realizing that most baby foods on store shelves were nutritionally... well, kind of terrible.
And honestly? She had a point. Cerebelly packs 16 brain-supporting nutrients into their products, while other brands like GoGo Squeez don't even have one. That's a pretty stark difference when you're talking about feeding developing brains.
What makes them different isn't just the science-y founder thing, though that's cool. They've fused groundbreaking scientific research with whole-food nutrition, and where most baby food purees are loaded with sugary fruits, their smoothie-inspired purees lead with vegetables over fruit and are always made with 0 added sugars. It's like they actually thought about what babies need instead of what makes parents think "oh, this tastes sweet, my kid will love it."
The company's gotten some serious recognition too. Their Organic Smoothie-Inspired Purees won a Good Housekeeping 2023 Parenting Award, and they're actually the first shelf-stable baby food to receive the Clean Label Project Purity Award. That's not just marketing fluff-it means they're testing for heavy metals and toxins, which is unfortunately not standard in the baby food industry.
But here's where it gets interesting: Cerebelly was developed based on decades of research that targets various regions of the brain in early child development with nutrients that support seeing, hearing, memory, attention, social awareness and much more. Each nutrient was carefully selected to support multiple areas of the brain as it develops rapidly in those early years.
They've expanded beyond just pouches too. The brand launched Cerebelly x Peppa Pig Smart Bars in collaboration with Entertainment One, and with a pouch sold every 15 seconds, they're clearly hitting a nerve with parents. As of March 2023, they're available in 8,200 retail stores, including Amazon, Target, Wegmans, Whole Foods, and Giant Eagle.
The pricing reflects the premium positioning-it's definitely more expensive than your average baby food. But when you consider that most baby foods are full of heavy metals and lack nutritional value, while Cerebelly has no heavy metals and is tested regularly, the price difference starts making sense.
Honestly? I think what Cerebelly's doing is pretty smart. They're not just making baby food-they're trying to change how we think about infant nutrition entirely. And with new CEO Don Clark bringing 30 years of retail experience from Target, Whole Foods Market, and Giant Eagle, they seem positioned to keep growing.
