Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Cettire-it's kind of become this under-the-radar secret for people who want designer stuff without the designer price tag. Founded in 2017 by Dean Mintz, this Australian-owned online luxury fashion retail platform sells clothing, shoes and accessories from over 1300 international high-end fashion brands. And when I say discounts, I'm talking real ones. Cettire is known for having very competitive pricing, often 40-60% off retail prices for designer items.
But what makes them different? Well, they don't actually hold inventory like traditional retailers. Unlike some luxury marketplaces, Cettire doesn't hold its inventory directly-instead, it sources items from a network of suppliers, which enables it to offer competitive pricing compared to traditional luxury retailers. That's basically how they keep prices so low. You're getting the same Gucci bag or Balenciaga sneakers, just through a different supply chain.
Now, I'll be honest-the customer service situation is... well, it's not their strong suit. Most contact happens through email, and you might be waiting a bit for responses. The average hold time is more than 30 min if you try calling. And returns? There's a fee. Returns will incur a fee of USD 25 per item. So you really want to be sure about what you're ordering.
The company went public on the Australian Securities Exchange back in December 2020, which tells you they're legit-not some fly-by-night operation. In December 2020, Cettire (CTT) listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) with a valuation of $190 million, raising $65 million at 50c per share via an initial public offering. They've even expanded into China recently, so they're clearly growing.
One thing people really seem to appreciate is the selection. We're talking Prada, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Balenciaga-basically if you've heard of it, they probably carry it. They offer an extensive range of women's and men's designer wear from over 2,500 world-renowned brands including Prada, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, and Valentino. And yeah, everything's authenticated, which is obviously crucial when you're dropping serious money on luxury goods.
The shipping is actually pretty solid-free express shipping on orders over $250 USD, and they ship to over 50 countries. So if you're patient with customer service, okay with paying return fees, and really want that designer piece at a fraction of the boutique price, Cettire might just be your new favorite bookmark.
