What is the return window?
You have 14 days from the date of purchase for CHANEL returns in the United States. Online orders can be returned by mail or at your nearest CHANEL boutique within 17 calendar days of the shipping date. Click & Collect orders must be returned at the boutique within 14 calendar days of the pickup date.
Do I need a receipt to return an item?
Returns and exchanges accepted within 14 days of purchase in original unworn condition with proof of purchase. Items must be "in [their] original unworn condition [accompanied by the] original documentation including sales receipt, tags attached, and undamaged packaging, including, but not limited to, [the] dust bag, box, and care booklet." Based on research, it appears that Chanel will not allow you to return or exchange a bag without the original sales receipt.

E-gift cards are nonrefundable. Sale or markdown items and merchandise that has been altered is not returnable. All watch and fine jewelry items are final sale.
How will I receive my refund?
You can return new or gently used products for a full refund back to your original payment method. Your return may take 7 to 10 business days to arrive at the CHANEL warehouse, up to 14 business days to process and an additional 7 business days to appear on your statement as a refund. If you paid with a CHANEL e-gift card, the refund will be issued on a new card.
Can I return online purchases in-store?
Online orders can be returned by mail or at your nearest CHANEL boutique within 17 calendar days of the shipping date. Your item(s) can be either shipped back or dropped off at your nearest CHANEL Fragrance and Beauty boutique. Purchases made online may be returned in select CHANEL boutiques.
Editor's Take
So here's the thing about CHANEL-it's basically the luxury brand that other luxury brands wish they could be. Founded by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel back in 1910, this isn't just some flash-in-the-pan designer label. We're talking about the house that gave us the little black dress, the quilted handbag, and that iconic No. 5 perfume that's been making people swoon for over a century.
What makes CHANEL different? Well, for starters, they're still privately owned by the Wertheimer family, which means they don't have to answer to shareholders breathing down their necks about quarterly profits. That freedom shows in everything they do-from their meticulous craftsmanship to their willingness to take creative risks that publicly traded companies might shy away from.
The brand operates across pretty much every luxury category you can think of. Fashion and accessories, obviously, but also fragrance and beauty, fine jewelry, watches, and even eyewear. And here's what's kind of amazing-they employ over 32,000 people worldwide. That's not just a fashion house; that's a luxury empire.
But CHANEL isn't just resting on its laurels. They've been making some pretty bold moves lately, like relocating their global headquarters to London in 2018 and banning fur and exotic skins from their collections. Plus, they just appointed Matthieu Blazy as their new Artistic Director in December 2024, bringing fresh creative energy from his acclaimed work at Bottega Veneta.
The shopping experience is pretty next-level too. They've got boutiques in major cities worldwide, plus they offer services like Click & Collect, personalized consultations, and their CHANEL & moi repair and maintenance program. Basically, once you buy something from CHANEL, they want to help you keep it looking perfect forever.
And let's talk about their digital game-they're surprisingly forward-thinking for such a traditional luxury brand. Virtual try-on experiences, comprehensive online shopping, and they even offer beauty consultations that range from 15 minutes to a full hour. It's like they've figured out how to blend old-world craftsmanship with modern convenience.
