ORLANDO BROWN JR. SIGNS UP FOR TWO MORE YEARS IN HIS 'DREAM SCENARIO'

Left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., a Bengals cornerstone as a captain and Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee, can add agent to his resume.

As he headed into the final year of his deal, Brown negotiated his two-year extension that keeps him in what he calls a 'dream scenario,' through the 2028 season in a deal announced Thursday.

NEW PASS RUSHER BOYE MAFE LIKES BENGALS' FAMILIAR RING

Boye Mafe arrived from Seattle Thursday to sign on as the newest Bengals pass rusher with a hand that was recently fitted for a Super Bowl ring. He likes the feel of it and that's one of the reasons he's here.

"They've been to the dance. That's something that attracted me. They know what it's like," said Mafe as he arrived at Paycor Stadium Thursday morning to take his physical.

"They know how to get there. Just coming from the Super Bowl, I want to go back. You want to bring that back to the city and to have the chance to do that here would be amazing."

With All-Pro sacker Trey Hendrickson now a Raven, Mafe likes the vision the coaches have unfolded for him in the Bengals' scheme: "I've been called on for the pass rush and to help us elevate the defense."

HOMETOWN DEAL GIVES BENGALS A BIG GAME SAFETY

Bryan Cook, the Bengals' new safety who learned his football in Cincinnati, officially signed on Thursday to spread what he knows to a secondary looking for some solid home cooking.

Cook looked right at home as he walked into Paycor Stadium Thursday morning with wife Jayla Thornton- Cook. "Great. Little cold. But great," said Cook Thursday morning of being back home as he swung through the locker room for the first time.

You could say he was born to be a Bengal. He shares his Sept. 7 birthday with Bengals founder Paul Brown, was born 26 years ago in Cincinnati, and soon becomes one of six Greater Cincinnati players in club history to play a game for the Bengals out of the University of Cincinnati. But all that's just a coincidence. Cook is here because he gives the Bengals defense what it needs most: experience, leadership and tackling.
