Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Cocokind-it's basically what happens when someone gets fed up with the beauty industry's nonsense and decides to do something about it. Founded in 2015, the brand set out to transform the beauty industry by empowering and celebrating people for exactly who they are, with a commitment to high-quality skincare formulas at transparent prices.
What makes them different? Well, for starters, they're not trying to sell you a $200 serum that does the same thing as their $22 one. Everything is plant-powered, sustainable, affordable, and cruelty-free. And when they say affordable, they mean it-most products come in recyclable glass packaging and everything is under $30.
The founder, Priscilla Tsai, had this radical idea that clean, effective beauty products shouldn't cost a fortune. Their philosophy centers on two universal truths in skincare: hydration and barrier support, which they believe are the requirements for glowy, happy skin. They're transparent about pricing because they want you to know what you're paying for, keeping superior formulas at approachable prices by putting their expertise and resources into the formula.
But here's what's really cool-they're not just another "clean beauty" brand throwing around buzzwords. All products are 100% cruelty-free, with the majority being vegan (except for beeswax-inclusive products), and they're free from artificial fragrances. Products labeled "organic" are USDA certified organic, and all ingredients meet strict efficiency, safety and sustainability standards.
And they've got some serious retail presence now. You can find them at Ulta Beauty, Target, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Shoppers Drug Mart. That's not small-time anymore-that's mainstream accessibility without compromising on values.
The products themselves focus on barrier support and hydration, which honestly makes sense when you think about it. Instead of chasing the latest trendy ingredient, they stick to what actually works for your skin's basic needs. Their hook is barrier support, addressing breakouts, signs of aging, sensitivity, and other skin concerns.
