As you already may know, this last year has been difficult here for us at 3C both personally and professionally. Unfortunately, there was another crisis in the family.

I would like to introduce you all to Froot Loops. She is my daughter Belle's (Adrienne and Lors sister) fur baby and my sweet granddog. Belle has been here since our inception and serves as the Operations Manager. Frooty is a five year old Miniature Australian Shepherd, a little thing weighing in at 20 lbs and the sweetest girl. She goes to work with Belle and is a great helper. Below you can see her as a puppy, napping in the plastic buckets we keep at the office, and another a few years later, slightly too big for the bucket. She also likes to take naps while the labels for your orders are being printed. I guess you could say she’s 3C’s mascot.

A few months ago Belle noticed something was wrong. Frooty wasn't eating or playing, she wouldn't come when called and was extremely weak so Belle took her to the vet. The vet called a few hours later saying Froot Loops was in kidney failure and needed to go to the Emergency Room immediately. Beyond terrified, Belle rushed her there. The triage team took her vitals and after a bit of a wait they were taken back. They ran some tests and discovered that Froot Loops had Addison's Disease. Basically, her adrenal glands don't function properly and she wasn't getting the necessary hormones she needed to function, and because her levels were so low she was in what's called "Addisonian Crisis"; her body was shutting down.

The good news was, if they could get her stable the prognosis was good. While Addison's Disease is incurable, with proper treatment (daily medication, monthly injections, and routine blood work) she can live a long and happy life.

She spent the night in the ICU under close monitoring and with intensive IV fluid therapy, they got her stable and was sent home!! What a relief. That furry pup is Belle's whole world. While we are so grateful she is still with us, it was obviously a large unexpected expense. We are here on behalf of Belle and Froot Loops to ask for help towards Froot Loops' overnight ICU bill and on going monthly injections and blood work.
