Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Cora-they're basically the period care company that figured out how to make tampons and pads without making you feel weird about buying them. Founded back in 2015, they've built this whole ecosystem around what they call "clean" period products, which honestly just means they're not stuffing their tampons with a bunch of chemicals you can't pronounce.
What's kind of brilliant is their subscription model. You customize your box based on your flow (heavy, light, whatever), and they ship it right to your door. No more awkward drugstore runs or that moment of panic when you realize you're out. They've got tampons, pads, liners, cups, discs, period underwear-basically everything you could need during that time of the month.
But here's where it gets interesting. With every purchase, they donate period products and health education to people who need them. Since 2016, they've donated over 10 million pads and provided reproductive health education to roughly 15,000 girls in Kenya and India. That's not just marketing fluff-that's actually making a difference.
The products themselves are organic cotton, which is a big deal if you're someone who cares about what goes in your body. And they've expanded beyond just period care into bladder care and general body care, which makes sense when you think about it. They're targeting that whole "comfortable in your own skin" vibe.
Their branding is refreshingly straightforward-no pink flowers or whispered euphemisms. Just clean, simple packaging that treats periods like the normal bodily function they are. They're available everywhere now too-Target, CVS, Amazon, Walmart. Started as a direct-to-consumer brand but smartly expanded into retail.
The company's raised over $50 million in funding, which tells you investors believe in what they're doing. And with founders who actually understand the market they're serving, they've managed to carve out a solid spot in the increasingly crowded feminine care space. Not bad for a company that started with the simple idea that periods shouldn't be complicated or shameful.
