Perhaps this morning has been full of joy and excitement with children tearing through gifts and leaving a delightful mess of shredded wrapping paper, tissue, and gift bags in their wake.
Perhaps it has been quiet and peaceful and slow as you sip your coffee and ponder Christmases past. So many happy memories whirling through your head. The nostalgia is bittersweet.
Perhaps Christmas looks different than you ever imagined. You are just trying to "get through it" and looking forward to tomorrow.
Perhaps that special loved one is missing this year and your heart aches with grief.
Dear one, whatever your Christmas looks like this year, I pray that you feel God's indescribable love for you. I pray He gives you a glimpse of that love through a memory, a moment, a pause in your day as you reflect...
May His gift, THE GREATEST GIFT, be the guiding light that draws you in and reminds you that the BEST IS YET TO COME.
Jesus was born that we might LIVE a full life, a peace-filled life, an abundant life full of joy DESPITE the season we are in. If you know Him, truly know Him, the best IS yet to come. He is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, and one day we will meet Him face to face.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
That precious baby in a manger, fully God and fully man, came for one purpose. To save the world from our sins by dying on a cross, the sinless lamb, in your place and mine.
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11
If you do not yet know Him, the way He wants you to, I invite you to receive Him as YOUR Savior.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation outside of simply trusting in Him as the one Who paid for every wrong thing we have done, and we have ALL done them.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
This gift-giving holiday serves as a reminder and celebration of the precious gifts our Heavenly Father has bestowed on us, the most important being His only Son Jesus Christ.
May THAT gift be the reason YOU celebrate today and EVERYDAY.
