| Spring Crochet Tips Spring is here At The Foundry and with it comes warm weather that makes many say yarn crafts must go on hold. We say "NO" to that. Every season is the right season to make and wear/use yarn creations. Here are some of our favorite tips for crochet in the warm weather: - Use fibers such as bamboo, flax (linen), cotton, and even some lightweight wools. These fibers will wick up sweat and feel cool when worn.
- Use thinner weight yarns such as lace, fingering, or sport. Thinner yarns will help you create lighter items that are cooler to wear.
- Make small projects. You can crochet in the warm weather without the risk of heatstroke by putting away that giant acrylic blanket you've been working on, and making some coasters, spa clothes, or tank tops.
- Layers are your friend. There are lovely wraps, cardigans, and other layering garments that work perfectly for those times you need layers. Maybe you will be at the beach and the ocean breeze can bring a chill, or you're going to an event where the air conditioning is always on rather aggressively.
- Sunhats, bags, water bottle holders, and other accessories are always super useful for your days when you are out and about. They are also great to make on warm days when you don't want to create something huge that will sit on your lap and make you hot.
