March certainly came in like a lion, but we're not talking about the weather. The March 2025 issue of Crochet Foundry Magazine launched last week with 4 fierce crochet sets to dress you head to toe in stylish knits. Because each set includes 2 patterns, there are really 8 patterns total, PLUS a bonus pattern! We are Crohet Foundry, hear us roar. But of course, the March issue also includes:
- Tips on working with woollen yarns
- Discovering your signature style
- A recipe for a delicious drink from South Asia
- Color planning sketches for each featured pattern
- Crochet Puzzles and Games
- and more!
Working with Woollen Yarns
Joanne Fowler returns to the March issue to answer all of our questions about woollen yarns: what is woollen yarn, how should we treat woollen yarn, and what can we use woollen yarn to crochet?
You've likely crocheted with all types of fiber—from cotton to silk to wool blends and more—so you already know that fiber choice affects the qualities of your crochet creations. Learn about woollen yarn and how to use it in this month's issue.
What is a Signature Style?
The March 2025 issue introduces crocheters to part 1 of a 3-part series on Signature Style.
"What is a Signature Style and How Can You Find Yours" plumbs the unique characteristics and aesthetics of style to help you discover how to express your personality through fashion. We spend a lot of time, effort, and expense on crocheting pieces for our wardrobe; this series will help you plan ahead to ensure you're crafting a timeless collection.
Thandai
Thandai, otherwise known as Nutty Rose Delight, is a deliciously refreshing drink from South Asia. Known also as a "cooling drink," it is enjoyed in the Indian subcontinent during the summer months for its cold, soothing properties.
A mixture of milk (substitute oat milk for a vegan option!), almonds, cashews, and spices like cardamom and black pepper, thandai is a delicious way to welcome the spring season.
Color Planning Sketches
Color planning sketches are back in the March 2025 issue to help you plan your crochet sets. Each set includes two matching patterns, but that doesn't mean you can't play with your colors!
