TRADE ALERT: STARS ACQUIRE MICHAEL BUNTING

Welcome to Texas Hockey, Michael! In exchange for Seattle’s third round pick in 2026, which was previously acquired on June 19, 2025, we have acquired Michael Bunting from the Nashville Predators.

The 30-year-old posted 31 points in 61 regular-season games with Nashville during the 2025-26 campaign, ranking third on the team in power-play goals, fourth in goals and sixth in both assists and points.

WELCOME TO TEXAS HOCKEY, TYLER!

In exchange for our own second-round pick in 2027 and fourth-round pick in 2029, we have acquired Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks.

The 36-year-old has recorded eight points in 57 regular-season games with Vancouver during the 2025-26 campaign, ranking fourth in time on ice per game and third in shorthanded time on ice per game.

Jim Nill made two significant additions to Texas Hockey this week, acquiring forward Michael Bunting from the Nashville Predators and defenseman Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks.

"We needed to add some depth, and we needed to give a boost to the players," said Nill. "I think all the teams in our division made great moves, including ourselves."

After adding superstar Mikko Rantanen last season, Dallas this year picked up two very nice complementary pieces in defenseman Tyler Myers and forward Michael Bunting.

The duo helps give the Stars the depth they need to compete in a very tough Central Division and come at the reasonable cost of three draft pics and also includes some very friendly salary cap management. That means the Stars have room to negotiate a new contract for Jason Robertson, who can become a restricted free agent in the summer.
