Returns
What is the return window?
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.
Do I need a receipt to return an item?
All returns must be authorized through our customer service department first before being shipped back to our warehouse. Failure to do so may cause a delay in processing your return.
Are there any items that are non-returnable?
We will refund your order once unopened items are received at our fulfillment center. Only unopened items are eligible for return.
How will I receive my refund?
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
Who pays for return shipping?
Please keep in mind, the consumer is responsible for shipping charges. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
Editor's Take
Design Essentials isn't just another hair care brand-it's basically the unsung hero of textured hair care that's been quietly revolutionizing salon and at-home hair routines since 1990. Founded by Cornell McBride, Design Essentials was launched to create a premium haircare system for salon and at-home use. And here's the thing that makes them different: they actually get that hair care is deeply personal and emotional.
At Design Essentials, we believe that everyone deserves to feel beautiful. Our products can give you the fresh start you need or keep you crowned with certainty through every step of your day. We are committed to helping you achieve your best hair because we know that beauty begins with confidence. That's not just marketing speak-it's reflected in their approach to product development.
What's particularly impressive is their commitment to education and community. Spelman College recently received a $1 million donation from Design Essentials, a Black-owned hair care company, to help contribute to the launch of its cosmetic science program. They're not just selling products; they're investing in the future of the industry.
The company operates with annual revenue reached $35M and has built a network that spans continents. Design Essentials has approximately 74 employees across 5 continents, including North America, Asia, Africa. But what really sets them apart is their distribution model-they work exclusively with licensed cosmetologists and have over 25,000 stylists in their network.
So whether you're dealing with curly, coily, or chemically treated hair, Design Essentials has probably spent three decades figuring out exactly what your hair needs. They're the kind of brand that understands hair isn't just about looking good-it's about feeling confident in your own skin.
