Returns

What is the return window?
You can return new, uninstalled items within 30 days of delivery. However, because projects are custom-cut to your specific room dimensions, refunds are not available on installed EasyClosets projects.

Do I need a receipt to return an item?
A Return Material Authorization (RMA) must accompany all returns. You need to call 1-800-218-2492 to request an RMA be emailed to you.

Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Installed EasyClosets projects cannot be returned because they are custom-cut to your specific room dimensions. There is also no refund if your order is returned because delivery was refused.

How will I receive my refund?
Refunds will be credited 50% of the purchased price for uninstalled product, along with any applicable taxes. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Who pays for return shipping?
Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. However, if a replacement item is required as a result of EasyClosets' error (incorrect or defective item), EasyClosets will pay to both replace the item and for shipping to the original address.

Editor's Take

Here's the thing about closet organization-most of us think we can just wing it with some basic shelving from the hardware store. But then you're standing in your bedroom at 7 AM, staring at a pile of clothes that somehow multiplied overnight, and you realize maybe there's a better way.

That's where EasyClosets comes in, and honestly, they've kind of nailed the sweet spot between "I'll just throw up some wire shelving" and "let me hire someone for $10,000." Founded in 1999, they basically invented the online closet design tool-back when most of us were still figuring out what this "internet shopping" thing was all about.

What makes them different? They custom-cut everything to your space's exact dimensions, down to the nearest 16th of an inch. So that weird corner where your ceiling slopes? The outlet that's right where you want a shelf? They work around all of it. And here's the kicker-you can save up to 40% compared to those fancy closet companies that send someone to your house with a measuring tape and a hefty invoice.

The DIY aspect might sound intimidating, but they've thought this through. Pre-drilled holes, pre-cut shelves, pre-inserted cams, pre-assembled drawer boxes-basically, they do all the fiddly stuff so you don't have to. About 80% of their customers install everything themselves, which tells you something about how manageable they've made the process.

But let's talk about the elephant in the room: returns. Because everything is custom-cut to your specific dimensions, you can't return installed projects. And if you return uninstalled items within 30 days, there's a 50% restocking fee. That's... significant. So you really want to measure twice (or three times) and think it through before ordering.

The company's been around for over 25 years now, manufacturing everything at facilities in Holland, Michigan and Nampa, Idaho. They're not some fly-by-night operation-they've got the infrastructure and experience to handle custom orders at scale. Plus, they offer a limited lifetime warranty for as long as you live in your home, which is pretty reassuring.
