Returns
What is the return window?
Eddie Bauer offers a lifetime warranty on every item they sell, stating "Every item we sell carries a lifetime warranty. If you are unhappy with it for any reason, you may return it for an exchange or refund."
Do I need a receipt to return an item?
Items exchanged without a receipt will be based on current value of the item. To be eligible for a full refund, you need to either keep the bill from the original purchase, provide a copy of the sales check or Adventures Rewards number, or specify at least the approximate date of the transaction. If you can't meet these criteria, you'll get a 50% refund of the sales price in the form of an Eddie Bauer gift card.
How will I receive my refund?
The business will send the refund back to the original payment method in most cases. If you lost a receipt and can't remember when you bought the product, you'll get a 50% refund of the sales price returned in the form of an Eddie Bauer gift card.
Can I return online purchases in-store?
You can bring items to an Eddie Bauer store and receive a refund to the original payment method or merchandise credit. Credit is given if the customer does not have the original receipt.
Who pays for return shipping?
Customers can choose between the Smart Label or customer-paid shipping when returning an Eddie Bauer item by mail. The Smart Label automatically deducts $6 from the refund for items weighing less than five pounds and $8.50 for items weighing more than five pounds.

You know that friend who's been around forever and somehow never goes out of style? That's Eddie Bauer in a nutshell. Founded in 1920 by a Pacific Northwest outdoorsman, the company made history in 1940 when Bauer patented the first quilted down jacket - basically inventing the puffy coat we all live in during winter.
But here's what's kind of fascinating about Eddie Bauer: they're not trying to be the flashiest outdoor brand on the block. Their Instagram tagline says it all: "Made for the outdoors. And the outdoorsy. Worn by all." It's this inclusive approach that sets them apart from some of the more hardcore outdoor brands that can feel intimidating.
The company's been through quite a journey - changing hands from General Mills to Spiegel, surviving bankruptcy in 2003 and 2009, and now operating under Authentic Brands Group and SPARC Group since 2021. Yet somehow they've maintained that approachable outdoor vibe that doesn't make you feel like you need to summit Everest to shop there.
From designing the first patented down jacket in America to winning 50 industry awards in the last 5 years, Eddie Bauer has built quite the legacy. And they're not just resting on their laurels - the brand licenses everything from eyewear to furniture, and until 2010, they even had their name on Ford SUVs.
What really strikes me is how they've managed to stay relevant for over a century. While their business has changed over the past 100 years, their work has remained centered around engaging in the transformative powers of the outdoors. That's not just marketing speak - it's a philosophy that seems to genuinely drive everything they do.
So whether you're actually planning to hike the Pacific Crest Trail or just want a decent jacket for walking the dog, Eddie Bauer gets it. They're the outdoor brand for people who love being outside but don't necessarily need to prove anything while they're out there.
