So here's the thing about Electronics Expo - it's basically what happens when someone decides New Jersey needs a proper high-end audio and video destination, and then actually pulls it off. Founded in 2003 by Leon Temiz, the company set out to fill a void in the New Jersey marketplace by building high-end showrooms where customers would have access to the most premium A/V brands.
And they weren't messing around. Walk into one of their two New Jersey locations (Wayne or Union), and you'll find something pretty unusual for electronics retail these days - actual rooms built inside the stores, set up from top to bottom as fully functional home theater systems, giving customers a clear picture of what's possible. It's kind of like test-driving a car, except you're test-driving your future living room's sound system.
The company's gotten pretty serious about the custom installation game too. Their expert team offers comprehensive home theater design and installation, ensuring a seamless setup that brings movies, music, and gaming to life. They're not just selling you speakers and walking away - they've got CEDIA certified installers who actually know what they're doing with home automation, lighting control, the whole nine yards.
But here's where it gets interesting. While they've got those two physical showrooms in New Jersey, Electronics Expo commands a dominant position in Amazon's Consumer Electronics Category with over 186,000 customer reviews and a 99% positive rating - which is basically unheard of in this space. That's more than double their closest competitor on Amazon, apparently.
Their brand portfolio reads like a who's who of premium audio and video. We're talking Samsung, Sony, Epson, KEF, Bowers & Wilkins, Marantz, Denon, Focal, Klipsch - basically if it's a respected name in home entertainment, they probably carry it. The company is very selective about what they sell and is an Authorized Dealer for every brand they represent, living by their reputation for integrity, quality, personal service, and competitive pricing as a family-owned company.
Notice how they emphasize that "authorized dealer" thing? That matters more than you'd think. There's a whole gray market in electronics where you can get stuff cheaper, but then you're on your own if something goes wrong. Electronics Expo's positioning themselves as the safe bet - you pay a fair price, but you get legitimate warranties and actual support.
The vibe seems to be "we're not trying to be Best Buy." They're going after the customer who knows the difference between a soundbar and a proper 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos setup, who cares about things like room acoustics and calibration. Their installation services cover everything from basic home theater to full-blown home automation with Control4 and Savant systems.
One thing that stands out - they've managed to bridge the online and offline worlds pretty effectively. You can browse and buy online (they offer free shipping), but you can also walk into a showroom and actually hear what you're buying. In an era where most electronics retailers have either gone fully online or are struggling to justify physical locations, that's not a bad middle ground.
