Ratings & Reviews 1 MEDION (R) LIFE (R) Smartphone E5004 is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5. Rated 4 out of 5 by drjd from Nice phone - but a lot of effort... The phone looks really good and has a nice feel - several people who've glanced at it said iPhone 6! I bought it as a spare phone, specifically because it has two SIM slots. I use Tesco Mobile in the UK and Three abroad (since Tesco is SO expensive). I also wanted to see how Android compares to my Nokia 920 Windows Phone which is my main phone. It seemed to be set for Germany when turned on and getting the time right took several goes at altering different settings until at last the correct time appeared. Pros: Nice bright screen; good battery life; reasonably up-to-date Android; quick in use; Cons: getting the back off to put SIM and memory cards in was REALLY difficult and took many attempts; not sure the back is going to last many attempts at taking off and on; problems in getting phone-specific accessories (eg eBay is only listing cases coming from China); I had a lot of problems getting it to work on mobile data and after several hours trying resorted to ringing up Three - not sure if they did anything but it was working shortly after the call (may have been due to the "German" origin mentioned above - they did ask whether it was a British-bought phone); doesn't seem as adept at picking up mobile signal nor wifi as my Nokia 920; no headphones supplied; manuals (paper and online) utterly hopeless - don't even tell you how to get the back off never mind how to use the phone; won't work with the selfie stick I bought on the same day; the textured back won't adhere to mounts relying on suction cups; In terms of comparing Windows Phone 8.1 with Android Lollipop 5.1 at present Windows Phone is far out in front - MUCH easier to use, much more intuitive and much less cluttered. Android is unnecessarily complicated so the only advantage at present to me is greater apps availability. Conclusion - better than I expected for the money both in build quality, appearance and performance. However I haven't totally ruled out returning it for a refund which was seriously on the cards when I couldn't get mobile data to work - more experimenting away from home is required to check it works in most places. Only recommended if you have computer nouse to get it working properly. While I admit to being a bit of Technophobe I'm pretty impressed by this phones abilities ( bearing in mind I am still feeling my way through the Android Apps). The only thing that lets it down is the abysmal instructions on paper and on line Date published: 2015-12-18 Rated 5 out of 5 by annnon from Great Battery Life Very easy to use - had mine about 6 months now Would recommend buying it Date published: 2015-12-18 Rated 5 out of 5 by Johno from A Great Smartphone Bought this phone 12 months ago and it's been brilliant. Very pleased with all the functions but the camera takes a little getting use to. The only criticism is the lack of a good user manual. If this is your first smartphone it takes some figuring out.
