Creating merchandise for adoring fans is a lovely little niche that we take seriously. We're proud of the environment, pay, benefits, stability, and flexibility we offer our employees, and our retention speaks to that - most of the employees we hired in our first 10 years still work here today, 10+ years later.

Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Fangamer-they're basically what happens when a bunch of EarthBound superfans decide to turn their obsession into a business, and somehow it actually works.
Started in 2008 with just four products (two shirts, a pin set, and a mug), these folks have built something pretty special from their Tucson headquarters. And when I say special, I mean they've managed to capture that weird sweet spot between genuine fandom and quality merchandise that doesn't make you cringe.
What sets them apart is their approach. They create merchandise inspired by the best video games of all time - shirts, plushes, figures, books, prints, pins, stickers, and more. But it's not just slapping Mario on a t-shirt and calling it a day. These are the people who'll spend months perfecting an UNDERTALE music box or designing a Hollow Knight pin that actually looks like something you'd want to wear.
The company's got this interesting trajectory too. After partnering with Toby Fox to create merchandise for Undertale, the site experienced a higher number of sales, with a cofounder saying "I thought there was a glitch in Shopify... Undertale had become just an incredible phenomenon." That success let them expand into bigger licenses-think Hollow Knight, Banjo-Kazooie, and a bunch of indie darlings that mainstream retailers wouldn't touch.
But here's what's really wild: most of the employees they hired in their first 10 years still work there today, 10+ years later. In an industry where people job-hop constantly, that kind of retention tells you something about how they treat their people.
They've also evolved beyond just merchandise. In recent years the company has also begun publishing physical editions of independent video games. So now they're not just making cool stuff about games-they're actually helping get games into people's hands in physical form, which is becoming rarer these days.
The whole operation runs out of a single building in Tucson, which gives them this scrappy, authentic vibe that you don't get from bigger companies. Pick up hours are 10AM-6PM Monday through Friday, and they're closed on holidays. When your order is ready to pick up, you can come ring the bell at their deliveries door on the Rosemont side of the building. That's the kind of detail that makes you realize these are real people doing real work, not some faceless corporation.
