Returns
What is the return window?
We gladly accept unworn, unwashed items with the tags still attached within 30 days of their ship date.
Are there any items that are non-returnable?
All promotional purchases, such as leggings redeemed with a Free Legging Code, free gifts, e-Gift Cards, or items marked final sale are not eligible for returns or exchanges. After your first purchase, socks, underwear, and hair accessories will be final sale.
How will I receive my refund?
Once your return has been scanned in or dropped off and confirmed, we will either process your refund to your original payment method, initiate your exchange, or issue your store credit as requested. Your refund (or store credit) will be processed immediately upon drop-off or once your return has been scanned in by the carrier. From there, it usually takes between 5-10 business days for your refund to post to your account depending on who you bank with.
Who pays for return shipping?
Please note there will be a $7 shipping and restocking fee for mail-in refunds, but exchange requests and drop-off returns are free. If you're submitting a return for store credit, your restocking fee will be waived.
Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Girlfriend Collective-they're basically what happens when someone finally gets fed up with the activewear industry's nonsense and decides to do something about it. And by "do something," I mean turn literal trash into some of the most coveted leggings on the market.
The brand started in 2016 with this wild marketing stunt that actually wasn't a stunt at all. Founders Ellie and Quang Dinh offered free leggings-you just had to share their post on social media and pay shipping. Each pair of the luxury leggings is made of 25 plastic water bottles, which sounds like it should feel weird or scratchy or somehow wrong, but it doesn't. That's the whole point.
What makes Girlfriend Collective different is they're not just slapping "sustainable" on their website and calling it a day. They produce everything in an SA8000 certified factory that guarantees a safe and healthy work environment, offering free catered meals every day, guided exercise breaks, and pay that starts at 125% above the local minimum wage. They'll literally show you videos of their manufacturing process in Vietnam. Try finding that level of transparency from most fashion brands.
The sizing thing is huge too. They offer sizes XXS-6XL, and they actually use models of all different body types in their marketing. Not as a token gesture, but consistently. It's refreshing in an industry that's historically been pretty terrible about this.
But let's talk about the actual clothes. The Compressive leggings are their signature-thick, supportive, the kind that suck you in without making you feel like a sausage. They're not cheap at around $68-88 per pair, but people swear by them. The FLOAT collection is lighter, better for hot yoga or just lounging around. And yeah, they make bras, shorts, dresses, even puffer jackets now.
The ReGirlfriend program is another clever move. Send back your old activewear (doesn't even have to be their brand), and they'll recycle it and give you store credit. They're working towards full circularity, encouraging customers to participate in its garment take-back program, which recycles Girlfriend pieces into pure fibers that can be remade into new clothes.
But here's what matters: when you buy from Girlfriend Collective, you're getting quality activewear that actually does what it claims to do-for your body and for the planet. In a world full of greenwashing and fast fashion, that's worth something.
