Returns

What is the return window?
If you're not happy with your purchase, simply return it within 90 days for an exchange or refund, less the cost of shipping and handling. Even after the 90-day timeframe has passed, they'll replace any defective item for up to a full year from the date of purchase.

Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Special policies apply to Halloween, Christmas, rug, Custom Made, personalized, and Clearance (prices ending in $.97) items. Custom furniture may be returned only for manufacturer's defect and freight claims.

How will I receive my refund?
All returned items must be in their original packaging and in the condition in which they were received for a full refund. If you are returning merchandise for a refund, the return fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.

Who pays for return shipping?
Use the included UPS Return Service (RS) label for $8.95 (small packages) or the Return Service 5 (RS5) label for $14.95 (large packages) to return an item. The fee for UPS to return the product is determined by the reason for return, price, and package weight/size.

What if I received a damaged or incorrect item?
All damages or defects must be clearly communicated to a Grandin Road customer service representative. Verification of the reported issues will be completed through an inspection upon our receipt of the returned item(s). After our review, you'll receive an exchange or merchandise credit.

Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Grandin Road-it's basically become the place where seasonal decorating meets actual furniture shopping, and honestly? That's kind of brilliant.

Founded in 2003, Grandin Road is a destination for home furnishings and décor that helps customers celebrate every season, but they've carved out this really specific niche. You know how most furniture stores are either super boring basics or ridiculously expensive designer stuff? Grandin Road sits somewhere in between, offering what they call "designer-inspired" pieces that won't completely destroy your budget but still look like you tried.

The Halloween thing is huge for them. Like, really huge. They unveil collections that bring timeless holiday charm and fresh, whimsical touches, and people go absolutely nuts for their "Halloween Haven" collection every year. But it's not just spooky season-they rotate through Christmas, spring, summer, basically treating your home like it should change wardrobes with the calendar.

What's interesting is they're primarily an online retailer, but they do have a couple of outlet stores in West Chester, Ohio and Roswell, Georgia. The outlets are where you can actually touch the stuff before buying, which matters when you're dropping a few hundred bucks on a sofa. And speaking of sofas, their Ava collection gets mentioned constantly-people either love the slipcovered furniture concept or they're skeptical about quality at the price point.

Grandin Road is part of Qurate Retail Group, which comprises seven leading retail brands including QVC, HSN, Zulily, Ballard Designs, Frontgate, and Garnet Hill. That corporate backing means they've got serious resources, but it also means they're dealing with the same supply chain and customer service infrastructure as those other brands-which, based on reviews, can be hit or miss.

The pricing is where things get complicated. You'll see a decorative pumpkin for $69 that's basically painted plastic, or bar stools pushing $500. But then there are genuinely well-made pieces with kiln-dried hardwood frames. It's inconsistent, which means you really need to read reviews on specific items rather than trusting the brand overall.

But here's what they do well: curation. Their stuff actually looks good together, and they're constantly refreshing inventory with new seasonal collections. If you're the type who likes redecorating for fall or going all-out for Christmas, they make it easy to find coordinated pieces without hiring a designer. And their photography is excellent-maybe too excellent, since some customers complain items look better online than in person.

The return policy is 90 days, which is generous, though you're paying for return shipping unless something arrived damaged. And they'll replace defective items up to a year out, which is actually pretty solid for furniture.

Grandin Road works best if you know exactly what you're getting into. Read reviews on specific items, understand that quality varies wildly by product line, and maybe start with smaller purchases before committing to big furniture pieces. The seasonal decor is probably their sweet spot-unique enough to stand out, priced reasonably for something you'll only display part of the year. Just don't expect Amazon-level customer service if something goes wrong.
