Summer is here, and I wanted to share a few simple things that genuinely make a difference when you're trying to stay on track or lose a bit of fat during the warmer months.
These aren't complicated. They're just the things that work.
Prioritise Protein And Vegetables
Keep these as the foundation of your meals. Protein keeps you fuller for longer and supports your muscle while you're in a deficit. Vegetables add volume without adding much to your calorie intake. Simple but hugely effective.
Get Your Daily Steps In
This is underrated by so many people. You don't need to be smashing intense workouts every day. Consistent daily movement, even just walking, adds up massively over a week. Aim for a daily step target and treat it as non-negotiable.
If You're Drinking, Be Smart About It
Summer usually means more social occasions. If you're going to drink, opt for spirits with zero-calorie mixers over wines and beers. They're significantly lower in calories, and you can still enjoy yourself without undoing your hard work.
Adjust To The Heat, But Keep Moving
If it's really hot, don't feel like you have to train at full intensity. Drop the intensity a little, take more rest, do slightly less, but stay consistent. Showing up at 70% is always better than not showing up at all.
The summer doesn't have to derail you. Small, consistent habits across these areas will keep you moving in the right direction.
