Crank it up! This year's fair is open through August 17 with the theme "Soundtrack of Summer." It's the laughter of people on the midway, the sizzle of fabulous fair foods frying, animals mooing and oinking, live music from the free stage, and more. Try new menu items like Butterfinger funnel cake or pickle-fried Oreos, sip State Fair Cotton Candy beer from Sun King and the Pineapple Whip cocktail from Shake Up, see a performing wolf pack and a strongman, and Wilson's Corn Eating Competition. The soundtrack theme is apparent in the new Vinyl Revival immersive exhibit featuring the Art of Music Experience. It's 17 days of fun for everyone and tickets are $14 and up. | |

Watch a movie under the stars Friday on the Indiana State Museum Lawn. In Disney/Pixar's Cars, watch cocky rookie Lightning McQueen learn life lessions including the importance of friendship as he travels to the most important race in his career. Ka-Chow! Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, snacks will be available for purchase, and the rain location is the museum's Great Hall. Tickets are $5. | |

Free wine? Yes, please. Visit The Rejoicing Vine Friday for the best hour of the month. Each guest receives a glass of wine or milk, light snacks are also free of charge, and the soundtrack is worship music to reflect Isaiah 55, the inspiration for the winery's name. This is a family friendly event, though minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 or over. RSVP is suggested but not required. | |

Mr. Boddy has invited several guests to his mansion but once he ends up dead, chaos ensues. With such a spectrum of shady suspects, who will stand out as the villain? This farce is inspired by the popular Hasbro board game and you'll meet Mrs. White, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, and Mr. Green, each with a reason to kill their host. The audience will help figure out whodunit at The District Theatre weekends through August 10. Tickets are $35. | |
