The Weekend 5 - Inspiration for your calendar, sent every Thursday morning.
Scare in the Square
Looking for a safe, family friendly Halloween? Friday's walkable and free trick-or-treat in Fountain Square fits the bill as your little ghouls and goblins stroll Virginia Avenue to collect treats from participating merchants. You'll want to grab a map and activity book in the Plaza or at Recess, then look for bright orange signs in shop windows. It's the perfect opportunity to wear fun costumes, enjoy the fall weather, and shop local.

Nosferatu at Hilbert Circle Theatre

Nosferatu is a German silent horror film made in 1922 which was one of the first vampire films. Creepy Count Orlok is buying a new house and enlists the help of a realtor. He soon learns the locals fear the count and begins to suspect his client is more interested in drinking blood than buying real estate. Arrive early Friday (in costume, of course) to see spooky decorations, sip scary cocktails, and prepare yourself for an old school movie experience with organist Donnie Rankin performing the soundtrack live on the Mighty Wurlitzer while the film plays in tinted monochrome.
