Winterlights at Newfields
It's dazzling and dreamy, magical and merry. Newfields' outdoor walking experience features nearly three million lights, a fully decked out historic home, displays synchronized to music, giant ornaments, firepits and s'mores, hot cocoa, and warm, spiked beverages for those 21 and older. Feel the festivity through January 4. Tickets are $16 and up.

Tonic Ball
Music lovers look forward to the Friday before Thanksgiving because Fountain Square hosts this stellar night of live performances by Indy's best singers and bands. Each year highlights a variety of artists, and sets pay tribute to them. This year, hear the songs of Green Day at HI-FI, Marvin Gaye at Square Cat Vinyl, Britney Spears at White Rabbit, The B-52s at Radio Radio, and a greatest hits mix at Fountain Square Theatre. Tickets are $75, sales benefit Second Helpings and their fight against hunger, and this event always sells out.

Struggling actor Michael Dorsey has a reputation for being difficult, but he's very talented. Desperate for a job, he decides to take on his most challenging role and dresses in drag to audition as "Dorothy Michaels." He gets the part but finds that being a "woman" really is demanding, especially when he falls for a female colleague. The musical comedy is rated R and the laughs are rolling through Sunday. All tickets include a dinner buffet and start at $69.
