Returns

What is the return window?
Once furniture is delivered in good condition, there is no return policy or exchange policy. Once furniture is accepted you cannot return unless specific exceptions occur.

Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Floor samples are sold in As-Is condition, with no returns, no refunds, no exchanges, no service, and/or no cancellations after 72 hours if the merchandise has not been picked up. All sales are final and merchandise must be picked up or delivered within 5 business days.

What if I received a damaged or incorrect item?
If any delivered furniture has defects, Customer Service will assist in repairs or exchanges. In the rare occurrence that an item arrives damaged on delivery, please notify the delivery team immediately. Jennifer will make arrangements for a qualified repair technician to come to your home and correct the damage if possible.

How will I receive my refund?
If an order is cancelled, the buyer gets a refund of a sum after deducting 30% of the initial purchase amount as cancellation fee.

How do returns work for gift recipients?
This guarantee is non-transferable. To qualify for this guarantee, the original purchaser must provide proof of purchase by supplying the order number from the sales receipt and/or the receipt.

Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Jennifer Furniture-it's one of those companies with serious staying power, but also some serious baggage. Founded back in 1975 in Woodbury, New York, they've been through more ups and downs than a convertible sofa mechanism.

The company's got an interesting backstory. They filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010 due to "substantial losses", which honestly isn't that uncommon in the furniture world-it's a tough business with razor-thin margins and fickle consumer tastes. But here's where it gets interesting: in 2020, the "Jennifer Furniture" brand was purchased by John Garg and the Namdar Realty Group, and they now operate it under Jennifer Opco LLC with six stores as of March 2021.

What's kind of fascinating is how they've positioned themselves. They call themselves the "best furniture store near me" with locations in Farmingdale, Paramus, Carle Place and Sayville, marketing themselves as a "trusted local design gallery for name brands". And they're not shy about their deals-advertising "great deals on modern living, dining and bed room sets" with savings up to 70% store wide.

But let's talk about what customers actually experience. The reviews are... well, they're mixed, to put it diplomatically. Jennifer Furniture has an average rating of 2.3 from 326 reviews, with the rating indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied. That's not great, but it's also not uncommon for furniture retailers, especially ones dealing with complex delivery logistics and custom orders.

The customer service situation is particularly telling. Their customer service is rated at 1.4 out of 5, with consumers mostly dissatisfied. And here's something that caught my attention: their website doesn't have a contact form or live chat, which feels pretty dated in 2025.

What they do have going for them is their product range and delivery promise. They offer same day furniture delivery and financing options, which is actually pretty competitive. They've been committed for over 40 years to offering consumers a wide-range of comfortable, stylish, quality merchandise at incredible values for every room.

The company seems to be in a rebuilding phase under new ownership, trying to recapture some of that old Jennifer Convertibles magic while dealing with the realities of modern retail. Whether they'll succeed? That's the million-dollar question in an industry where Amazon and Wayfair are eating everyone's lunch.
