🎤 Artist Spotlight: Welcoming Bia Ferreira to Spring Fest!
We are thrilled to welcome Bia Ferreira to the Joshua Tree Music Festival Spring lineup, an artist whose work radiates truth, power, and undeniable soul. Hailing from Minas Gerais, Brazil, Bia describes her sound as MMP; Música de Mulher Preta (Black Woman Music), a genre-defining blend of soul, R&B, MPB, gospel, reggae, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms. Her music is not only beautifully crafted... it’s electrifying, intentional, and deeply rooted in justice.
A self-taught multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Bia began touring Brazil solo as a teenager, carving out a path led by purpose. Her breakout song “Cota Não É Esmola” became a viral anthem that brought global awareness to her work and sparked critical conversations across Brazil and beyond.
Since then, she has toured internationally and released powerful projects like Igreja Lesbiteriana, Um Chamado and Faminta, each revealing her gift for weaving activism, spirituality, humor, and vulnerability into sound.
On stage, Bia is transformative, channeling joy, resistance, tenderness, and fire all at once. Her performances invite us to listen more deeply, to expand our hearts, and to imagine a more loving world, perfectly embodying the JTMF Ethos.
